Over the next 38 years, his ministry included pastorates in Louisiana, Mississippi, and Texas; the mission field of Japan; serving with the Evangelism Division of the Baptist General Convention of Texas; and finally Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary, where he served as Chairman of the Department of Hebrew and Old Testament.
