However, with extracts from historical documents including diaries and letters, and the author's memoirs and observations - you will be guided through your very own personal tour of this castle and travel back in time to learn of the High Chieftain Madden, the effects of Elizabethan forces, and later occupation by Cromwellians and Jacobites.
The history of more recent centuries includes: personal accounts from the famine, a few colourful 19th and 20th century owners, their devoted retainers, and through to present day wildlife conservation.
