The author also corrects false information that was broadcast by the media following Dahmer's arrest. In addition, there are transcripts of the interviews with Dahmer whilst in custody. Dahmer's childhood was not as traumatic as some might suggest and many children who suffer much greater hardship than Dahmer do not become serial killers. Although not for the faint hearted and at times disturbing, this book is a compelling read for anyone interested in the true story from the inside and the psychology of someone who killed not out of hate, but passion.
