It was also very important for me to bring awareness to mental health because it was only when I learned emotional regulation, the need not to overthink everything and becoming self-aware was when my healing really started which played a huge part of my healing process and could have only happened due to undergoing mental health treatment from both my psychiatrist and my therapist. This book is for anyone who have been abused and neglected as a child and continued to rise above adversities. This book is unique as share parts of myself in many areas of my life from my personal relationships and dysfunctional family dynamics. This book addresses mental health and substance use illnesses to bring awareness and of necessary insights of both fields. It highlighted the correlation between trauma and mental health illness.
