Life happened. I had a marriage of almost twenty years, two wonderful sons, a successful but unfulfilling career in corporate America, and a divorce. I needed a change. Who would have thought that a New Year's resolution to "Live somewhere else and do something different" would have been so life changing? I sold everything, took a one-year sabbatical, and moved to Italy. I planned to accomplish two bucket-list items: (1) live in another country and (2) learn another language.
With a couple of suitcases of clothes and personal items, I set out on my year's adventure. I found a new freedom, new adventures every day, how real happiness feels, that love is always a possibility, and how the rest of my life might look. I learned to dream again, I learned to love again, and I learned where my place in the world was plus so much more.
