In July 1980 London's National Gallery paid a record sum for a canvas that purported to be Peter Paul Rubens's Samson and Delilah (1609). Euphrosyne Doxiadis is an artist and art historian. She teaches at the Aegean Center for the Fine Arts and is the author of The Mysterious Fayum Portraits: Faces from Ancient Egypt.
