Her husband's death underscored her concern about the healthcare in this country. Miley left home during World War II. She met her husband, a member of the US Navy. They had a life of hard work, gardening, and canning the vegetables she grew, taking care of Paw Paw Trees, and freezing the fruit.
The past sixteen years have been the hardest, with Miley's son being in prison with more time to go. This led Miley to question her faith in American institutions, especially the legal system. Life Under Siege lll: Innocent and Incarcerated details the trials and tribulations Miley has experienced with her family.
