In 2015, Johnson was inducted into the National Academy of Design, and in 2022, AIA Chicago honored him with a Lifetime Achievement Award, recognizing his lasting impact on architecture and the built environment.

Author Biography

Ralph Johnson is a Principal and Global Design Director at Perkins+Will, where he has worked since 1976. He was elected to the College of Fellows of the American Institute of Architects in 1995, and was elected to the National Academy in 2015 - one of the highest honours in American art and architecture.
